This course is appropriate for a qualified portable fire extinguisher servicing technician who’s passed the BS3506 exam invigilated by BAFE or an organisation recognised by them and technicians that have been refreshed by a BAFE ‘accepted’ training provider.
This course would also suit people not actively servicing fire extinguishers but who support extinguisher technicians and need to understand what is involved i.e. back office support staff, designers and people who sell fire extinguishers. These students receive “An introduction to portable fire extinguisher provision and maintenance” attendance certificate.
The one-day intensive programme covers the maintenance and installation requirements detailed in BS5306-3:2017, BS5306-8:2012 and explores the implications for recharging extinguishers since the introduction of BS5306-9:2015.
Apart from giving the student a general update to recent changes to relevant British and European Standards, the course also looks into the increased requirements in BS5306-3:2017 for technicians to be able to liaise effectively with the customer. The course includes:
Time will be spent familiarising the student with current best-practices in fire extinguisher servicing along with networking opportunities.
Arrangements can sometimes be made for dyslexic students if we are advised at the time of booking.
