According to BS5306-3:2017 portable fire extinguisher service technicians need to be ‘competent’ which means receiving “on the job” experience and attending a training course, followed by the successful invigilation administered by BAFE or an organisation recognised by them. Over 3 days our instructor is capable of taking a candidate without any previous experience of maintaining fire extinguishers through the intensive course syllabus ready for invigilation by BAFE. We not only train people in how to efficiently service a fire extinguisher, but also how to apply this newfound knowledge and put it across effectively to the customer in a professional manor.
This course is appropriate for fire trade portable extinguisher service technicians and in-house maintenance people in organisations that service their own extinguishers, or those working in facility management companies who need to service a client’s extinguishers while on site as part of an all-encompassing service contract.
Scheduled courses are run frequently at our training venues around the UK.
This is an intensive three-day training programme introducing the student to the requirements of BS5306-3:2017, BS5306-8:2012 and BS5306-9:2015 in a structured manner, covering how to commission, install and maintain BS EN3 designed portable fire extinguishers.
