These courses are suitable for fire trade portable fire extinguisher service technicians and in-house maintenance people in organisations that service their own extinguishers or those working in facility management companies who service their client’s extinguishers while on site as part of an all-encompassing service contract.
Personnel servicing portable fire extinguishers should according to BS5306-3:2017 be 'competent' and this requires them having field experience, training and passing of the BS5306 exam invigilated by BAFE or an organisation recognised by them.
Scheduled courses are run frequently at our training venues around the UK. If you have 6 or more students to train together it is often more cost effective to have the course run in-situ at your own facilities, see below.
This intensive Extinguisher Technicians Course runs for three days with the students taking the written and practical BS5306 exam invigilated by BAFE on the fourth day.
This one day Refresher course is required to be taken according to BS5306-3:2009 every three years to enable the extinguisher service technician to retain 'competency' and is open to anyone who has previously been qualified and attained the BAFE issued or an equivalent certificate. In effect the course provides intensive 'continuous professional development' found in other skilled professions but delivered in a single day.
If you have 6 or more technicians needing BAFE qualification or 3-year refresher training you should find it more cost effective for us to run the course in-situ at your own facilities.
